Abel McBride is the 2021 Chair for the Buildings and Grounds Committee.
As an almost all volunteer run Church, Second Presbyterian is grateful for the hard working volunteers and committee members who make up the Buildings and Grounds Committee. Without their help, their time, their insights, and their talents the church grounds would quickly fall into disarray.
The Committee meetings are held immediately after the Men’s Group Meeting on the last Saturday of the month at 10 AM. In addition workdays are scheduled the first Saturday of each month. During this time volunteers come together to access and work on the various maintenance needs of the church such as plumbing, gardening, cleaning, organizing, inventory, and any other requests from the Congregation. With the Candelaria Wing recently transitioning back into Second Presbyterian Church’s possession, the need for assistance in maintaining the church grounds has grown. The Building and Grounds Committee looks forward to growing the property and grounds into a beautiful facility for everyone to enjoy.
